The league, which consists of 14 teams in New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Ohio and Maryland, will award three scholarships of $2,500 each — one to each student from each of its three divisions.Scholarships will be awarded to a senior graduating from a public or private high school based on academic need and financial need, among other criteria. The winners must be involved in their community, hold a grade-point average of at least 3.0, and take part in extracirricular activities.
The scholarships must be used toward a two- or four-year college or university, vocational or technical education institution or program.
Local fans must complete applications and return them to the Renegades, the short-season Class A affiliate of the American League’s Tampa Bay Rays.
