MLB Network to air Hamilton special

Former Renegades outfielder Josh Hamilton, seen here signing autographs in spring training on Thursday, will be the focus of an hour of MLB Network programming tonight.
"Josh Hamilton: MLB Network Special" will air at 9 p.m. tonight and focus on the slugger's path to becoming an American League all-star — from being selected as the top overall draft pick in 1999 to his drug troubles to his major-league debut with the Cincinnati Reds on April 2, 1997.

If you've read any of the Journal's coverage of the Renegades and Hamilton over the past decade or so, you know well his story. Still, it'll be interesting to see how much of his two stints in Hudson Valley will be mentioned.

Having last spoke to Josh at last year's All-Star Game, he still had great things to say about his time in Fishkill, including how playing here helped him stay grounded when he was baseball reinstated him in 2006.
